Archives Research Request Form

Use this form if you want to view an item in the Historical Society’s archives and special collections. Collections staff will respond within 10 business days of receiving the form, and may need additional information to fulfill your request. People who need to see an item in person may request an appointment which we will schedule based on availability of space and archive/library staff time. Happy researching!

What material(s) are you requesting to view? You can request up to five items (if known) or topics (if you are not sure what items we have). Please be as specific as possible. For example, you might say, “Documents from 1920-1930 about the Smith house on Main Street.” *

Whenever possible, we will provide access to high quality digital images of the items you request to view to limit the physical handling of rare or fragile materials in our collection. You can schedule an appointment to view these digital images in our reading room. If your research requires that you see an item in person (rather than via digital image), please explain the reason for this below. Please note that exceptionally fragile items may not be available to view in person.
