Preservation Pop Up

Thanks to the generous support of the Rural Maryland Council, Preservation Maryland will be hitting the road this spring and summer to setup temporary pop-up offices in rural parts of the state! Preservation Maryland will host a preservation pop-up office at The Bordley History Center in downtown Chestertown, Maryland on Friday, May 3, 2019. The public is encouraged to visit the pop-up office anytime between 10AM and 4PM to speak with a member of Preservation Maryland’s professional staff about their historic preservation and historic property questions. No appointment is needed. Office hours will be followed by a History Happy Hour hosted by the Kent County Historical Society.

Tea Party Events

The Historical Society of Kent County will be showing a film inside of the Bordley Building on an hourly rotation that provides a general overview of the colonial era in Kent County. This year we will be partnering with the Small Museums of Kent County to provide a colonial photo opportunity, and we will be reading the Chestertown Resolves from the main stage prior to the reenactment. As always we will be selling craft beer as a fundraiser! We hope to see you at one of our Tea Party events!

Historic House Tour

Come spend the day in historic Chestertown! The doors to a selection of National Landmark Historic District homes will be open to you for the 48th Annual Historic House Tour. The houses are open Saturday, October 6th from 1pm to 5pm. Tickets are $25 in advance, and also available the day of for $35. All tickets are available beginning at 11am at the Bordley History Center, located across from Fountain Park at 301 High Street. Reservations for the tour are recommended. Ghost Walks of Chestertown
