History lovers, take a break and relax at the Geddes-Piper House, our lovely Federal townhouse in Chestertown's Historic District, at our regular monthly events:

History Happy Hourthe First Friday of every month, 4:00-6:00 pm, offers great wine, fabulous cheese, and a laid-back history program.  Join us before setting out for the other First Friday events in the Chestertown's arts community, from 5:00-8:00, and dinner at one of the excellent local restaurants.

Bob Gibson explores the stories, and the real history, of Wye Plantation, and the intertwining of place and people that created this historic Queen Anne's County landmark.

The beloved local baseball legend, Bill "Swish" Nicholson was known for his mighty swing. Swish is the subject of author (and Maryland Circuit Court Judge) Robert Greenberg's discussion, and his book by the same name, which he will also be signing.

Scott Sheads of Fort McHenry shares his fascinating research on the first war of our new nation, with insights on the Battle of Caulk's Field.

Wassail Party
Join us for this long standing Society tradition. Bring a Kent County Christmas tale, and we may just treat you to George Washington's historic holiday punch, along with our annual Wassail Bowl, of course.

Tea and History:  the Third Thursday of every month, a 1:00 pm informal history program, with dessert & tea (you're welcome to bring a sandwich!).  Join us on your lunch break; during your shopping trip to the many quaint shops in Chestertown; or just to step out and enjoy the afternoon.

The Vannort Quilt Squares
We explore a 'history mystery' with Beverly Birkmire as she shares her fascinating research on the intertwining of the families of the Kent County ladies whose names appear on the Geddes-Piper House 1866 Vannort Quilt Squares.

Tea Time House Tour - the first Saturday of October, 1:00-5:00 pm. The Society's annual walking tour of Chestertown's Historic District, is approaching its fifth decade. One of the premiere yearly events of Kent County, this is the day when Chestertown opens its doors. Tick
